Viktoriya Molchanova is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in flute performance at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Dr. Tara Helen O’Connor, while also pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in arts management at Purchase College. Viktoriya began playing flute when she was ten years old at her home in Rockland County, New York. Her previous teachers include Rebecca Khuel and Norah Carney. At age twelve Viktoriya was a student at the Mozartina Conservatory where she was first introduced to chamber music. She is a recipient of the Bronxville Women’s Club Award and the Denise Friesen Award for Musical Excellence. Viktoriya served as Vice-President of Sleepy Hollow High School’s Music Honor Society and performed at Purchase College with the Area-All State Band. In summer of 2019, Viktoriya performed Schoenberg’s “Nachtwandler” with mezzo-soprano Janna Baty and fellows at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, a summer program run by Yale School of Music.
