Josean Delgado will be starting his master’s degree in flute performance at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music where he will be studying under the tutelage of Dr. Tara Helen O’Connor.
He was a fellow with the International Chamber Orchestra of Puerto Rico in 2019 and 2020 Annual Festival under the baton Emilio Colón, Artistic Director and Cellist of the ICOPR. He has performed with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, San Juan Chamber Orchestra, Aruba Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Nuevo Proyecto Sinfónico, Alea 21 Contemporary Chamber Music, Philharmonia Symphony Orchestra, and the musical "Man of La Mancha" and “Once in this Island” productions from the Repertory Theatre at the University of Puerto Rico.
He has attended summer programs such as Le Domaine Forget, Chautauqua Institute Festival, Nuevo Mundo Festival & Academy, Puerto Rico Summer Music Festival, Iowa Flute Intensive, Puerto Rico Flute Symposium, and Music Academy International, where he studied with Emmanuel Pahud, Denis Bouriakov, Philippe Bernold, Susan Hoeppner, Jacinthe Forand, Richard Sherman, María Gabriela Rodríguez, Nicole Esposito, Julien Beaudiment, Christine Beard, and Nicholas Duchamp. Also, he has taken masterclasses and private lessons with Sharon Bezaly, Marina Piccinini, Robert Langevin, Jeffrey Khaner, Ransom Wilson, Marcos Granados, Jonathan Figueroa, Alhelí Pimienta, Alberto Almarza, and others.
He was the recipient of the Suzanne Shull "Kay Logan Flute Scholarship", CHQ General Scholarship and the Harriet B. and Ralph T. Geller Memorial Scholarship in support of his study in the Chautauqua School of Music Instrumental Program. He completed his bachelor’s degree in flute performance at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. His teachers include Josué Casillas, Mindy Heinsohn, and Ivan Mariani.
