
Daniela Volkovinsky received her Masters Degree from Purchase College in 2016, SUNY where she is studied with Dr. Tara Helen O’Connor. Daniela received her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Columbus State University in 2014 where she studied with Dr. Andrée Martin. She’s performed as a Governor’s Honor’s Program Finalist in 2009 in Georgia. She was also co-principal in the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony and principal in the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra in the years of 2009-10’. She’s performed many principal parts with the CSU Philharmonic under the baton of Paul Hostetter, the CSU Wind Ensemble under the baton of Dr. Jamie Nix, the CSU Contemporary Ensemble and the CSU flute choir since her freshman year and is now performing with the Purchase Symphony Orchestra and New Music Ensemble.
In 2012, she won the Georgia Philharmonic Young Artist Competition and performed Carl Reinecke’s Concerto in D Major with the orchestra. Among Daniela’s performance experiences, she also has experience as a teacher. At Columbus State University, Daniela worked at the Preparatory Division Program of the Schwob School of Music teaching children of all ages and levels to play the flute. She spent two consecutive years working with a full flute section at the Forsyth Central High School band camp. She also has five years of experience in private teaching, including school-aged children and adults who have no previous experience.
Daniela is currently pursuing her DMA at the University of Iowa under Professor Nicole Esposito.
